The heavyweight division and world titles are often considered to be the most prestigious in boxing and tend to draw the most attention from the boxing public. The following five tallest heavyweight champions of all time however, not only turned heads thanks to their prowess in winning one or more of those titles but also due to the fact that they literally towered over all of their competitors in the ring.
5. Wladimir Klitschko – 6’ 6”
One of a pair of Ukrainian brothers who have all but dominated the heavyweight division for the last decade, six foot six inch tall younger brother Vladimir was born on 25th March 1976 in what is now Kazakhstan.
Nicknamed ‘Dr Steelhammer’, Kitschko is the reigning WBA, IBF, WBO, IBO and the Ring heavyweight champion having won 64 of his 67 completed bouts at time of writing. The dominant Ukrainian is the second longest reigning heavyweight champion of all time, having held his IBF title since the summer of 2006.
